English exams based on ITIL® syllabus 2007 will be discontinued from 1 February 2012, resit until 31 January 2012
During 2011 there was an update for the ITIL® syllabuses, ITIL® literature and the ITIL® examinations at both Foundation and Intermediate levels, with the exception of the MALC module. This update affected the content of the examinations.
The non-English ITIL® examinations which are currently provided are based on a syllabus from 2007. The new examinations, based on the 2011 syllabus, will be available during 2012. The old, 2007 examinations, will then be discontinued. We will provide more information about this on a later stage.
The English ITIL® examinations which are currently provided are based on syllabuses from both 2007 and 2011. Candidates can prepare for this examination using either the 2007 or the 2011 documentation. Subjects which only appear in either the 2007 syllabus or the 2011 syllabus will not be examined.
This English examination will be discontinued from 1 February 2012.
The new English examination that is based solely on the 2011 literature, will be available from 1 January.
In January 2012 there will therefore be two examinations available in English for each module: (with the exception of MALC.)
- candidates who did not pass an English ITIL® examination in December 2011 will be able to retake the same examination (2007/2011) UNTIL 31 January 2012.
- new candidates can take the new, 2011 examination. These examinations can be scheduled from the end of December. Please take this into consideration when ordering an examination from your examination centre.
